Preview: Just A Game Stakes

Breeders’ Cup winner Forever Together (Belong To Me-Constant Companion, by Relaunch) headlines the grade I Just A Game. Eight mares will go a mile on the Belmont turf.

1. Carribean Sunset (Danehill Dancer-Bonheur, by Royal Academy): Ran second in the Beaugay last time out in her first American start. She hails from Ireland.

2. Raw Silk (Malibu Moon-Silken Sash, by Danehill): Won last year’s Sands Point at Belmont and comes into this off a win at Gulfstream.

3. Captain’s Lover (Captain Al-Sunshine Lover, by Badger Land): The globetrotter of this field is a multiple group I winner in South Africa. She hasn’t raced since finishing fourth in a group I in France last October.

4. I Lost My Choo (Western Expression-Fairy Queen, by Tom Rolfe): New York-bred was seventh behind Forever Together in April, but returned to defeat a stakes field in restricted company last time out.

5. Forever Together: Defending Eclipse Award winner capped off her 2008 campaign with a win in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf, then made her season debut with a win in the Jenny Wiley at Keenland. She finished third in this event last year, her only previous race at Belmont. She will carry top weight of 123, spotting each other entrant five pounds.

6. Modern Look (Zamindar-Prophecy, by Warning): Group II winner in France finished second in her first American start at Santa Anita in March, a listed stakes.

7. Diamondrella (Rock of Gibraltar-Tap Your Feet, by Dixieland Band): Will be making her graded stakes debut, but has won five consecutive races.

8. My Princess Jess (Stormy Atlantic-Jewell of Jewels, by Pleasant Colony): Won the grade III Beugay Handicap last time out. This multiple graded winner has taken five of 11 lifetime starts.
